Case Studies: Helicopters

Project:
The project for MAC Interiors was to completely design, manufacture and certify the new interior of the S92 Helicopter. New stowage was supplied in the form of new design ‘dog houses’ which were covered in leather to remain in keeping with the new aircraft interior.

Challenge:
We uplifted the existing shell kit by re-covering it in leather to compliment the refurbished and recovered seats. MAC Interiors also built and installed a new design of lavatory unit in the S92. This allows the toilet tank to be emptied from outside the aircraft instead of passing the waste through the cabin.

Interior:
The helicopter is fitted with wood veneered side ledges that include cup holders, and the wood veneered features are carried on through the cabin to enhance the VIP interior. In order to make the helicopter even more exclusive for travellers, a new coat closet adjoins the lavatory with a discreet door to close off the cockpit.

Due to their extensive approvals, MAC were able to certify the complete interior, including adopting the seat certification, in house which saved a significant amount of time for the customer.
