A380 Delivery Celebrated The MacCarthy Interiors team are celebrating the successful delivery of eleven high finish units for the A380-800 MSN 002 aircraft. Completed units included a full height bar unit and an innovative under-stairs stowage, all of which more than satisfied the high standards expected by Airbus. This program is representative of MacCarthy Interiors’ commitment to investing in the future. This challenging project involved a steep learning curve between all of the members involved. This includes the conducting a full static structural test on one unit, representative coupon tests for the aircraft attachments. The tests were passed with a significant reserve of strength in all cases. MacCarthy Interiors would like to thank all of their suppliers who supported them on this project. |

EASA Approval At our busiest time, and with the largest number of projects ever needing completion in the same quarter of a year, the company achieved its EASA Part 21 Design Organisation Approval (DOA) status in September 2005*. Following his appointment as Head of Design, Andy Howey has further developed all facets of the design office to meet the stringent requirements for this approval status. In this role, Andy is the single point of contact with EASA and, when acting as the delegated authority, the UK CAA. *The
company already held Part 21 POA status for production and Part 145

Long
Term Contracts After
securing a high number of contracts this year, orders are now projected
through to 2007, and many of these are with leading airlines.
This provides firm foundations for the planned expansion in spring
2006. |

Child
Restraint System An
additional feature of this base unit is its ability to ‘disarm’ the
airbag systems, allowing safe installation on the growing number of host
seats which are equipped with airbags. |
