A380 Delivery Celebrated
The MacCarthy Interiors team are celebrating the successful delivery of eleven high finish units for the A380-800 MSN 002 aircraft.  Completed units included a full height bar unit and an innovative under-stairs stowage, all of which more than satisfied the high standards expected by Airbus.  This program is representative of MacCarthy Interiors’ commitment to investing in the future.

This challenging project involved a steep learning curve between all of the members involved.  This includes the conducting a full static structural test on one unit, representative coupon tests for the aircraft attachments.

The tests were passed with a significant reserve of strength in all cases.

MacCarthy Interiors would like to thank all of their suppliers who supported them on this project.

A380 SFE Supplier
MacCarthy Interiors are proud to announce that they been awarded Airbus SFE supplier status after only three years delivering BFE units directly to the Airbus production line.

The SFE units are a combination of standard equipment and optional equipment for supply directly to the Airbus aircraft build.

EASA Approval
At our busiest time, and with the largest number of projects ever needing completion in the same quarter of a year, the company achieved its EASA Part 21 Design Organisation Approval (DOA) status in September 2005*.

Following his appointment as Head of Design, Andy Howey has further developed all facets of the design office to meet the stringent requirements for this approval status.
In this role, Andy is the single point of contact with EASA and, when acting as the delegated authority, the UK CAA.

*The company already held Part 21 POA status for production and Part 145 maintenance approval

Long Term Contracts
Since expanding into the new facility two years ago, the order book has continued to increase, with a large number of high profile projects being the mainstay of next year’s production.

After securing a high number of contracts this year, orders are now projected through to 2007, and many of these are with leading airlines.  This provides firm foundations for the planned expansion in spring 2006.

Child Restraint System
We are pleased to announce that MacCarthy Interiors is now taking orders for their world leading 16g rated child restraint system.  Not only can this system be installed in both forward and aft facing positions, the attachment to the host seat is achieved by using a base which if required allows rapid detachment in an emergency.

An additional feature of this base unit is its ability to ‘disarm’ the airbag systems, allowing safe installation on the growing number of host seats which are equipped with airbags.

A high number of enquiries have been received from airlines.  For further information, please contact Roger Patron on +44 (0) 1737 788 888.

Infant Safety Cradle
Following the aggressive development programme of this infant cradle, MacCarthy Interiors has delivered certified infant safety cradles to Virgin Atlantic Airways as part of the total order quantity of 180 units.

The advantages of this system is that it can be installed into existing bassinet attachment points, and is certified for turbulent conditions.

A number of improvements have been incorporated to meet the high demands for finish and operation in service.  Units are being delivered directly to Airbus for installation onto the Virgin Atlantic Airways A340-600 fleet.
